Year 6 Spring term
In our English lessons we are reading the book ‘The spider and the fly.’ by Mary Howitt which is a poem book. We will be focusing on writing persuasive arguments, invitations, and narratives.
Alongside this, we will be also be developing our skills in comprehension and answering SATs style questions.
In our math lessons we will be continuing to focus on numbers including decimals and fractions. We will also be looking at a range of reasoning style questions.
Additionally, we will be practicing SATs style questions which includes arithmetic.
In our science this half-term we are focusing on experiments. We will be researching, creating, and conducting practical experiments relating to our previous topics.
In our humanities lessons we will be learning about WWI. We will be looking at the reason WWI started, discuss which countries were involved and investigate the key figures. We will also explore what life was like for people living in Britain at the time.
Our Art lessons will be looking at illustrations in the style of Tony DiTerlizzi.
Our French lessons will be focusing on ‘The weather.
In our PSHE lessons we will be looking at ‘Being my best.
In RE we will be looking at charity and generosity within religion.
In music we will be looking at a ‘Music and me.

Please can you ensure that your child has their PE kits in school every Monday for their PE slot which is led by Manchester City this term.
