Our Topic this half term is Tremors
Overwhelming and mighty, Mother Nature’s awesome energies hiss and roar deep within the Earth. Plates collide, spewing lava. Rocks rain down and mud slides in torrents. Towns and cities vanish under ashen clouds.
Discover the dangerous and ferocious world of natural disasters and glimpse their savage and deadly effects!

Geography– we will be locating countries that have been hit by natural disasters, using an atlas. We will also look closely at the “Ring of Fire”.
Art: We will be making model volcanoes using clay and create pictures of volcanoes using tissue paper.
P.E: This term we will be learning how to play tag rugby. The children will learn how to:
-Throw and catch correctly
-Learn the principles of tackling and tagging
-Tactics and rules of the game
Science: Rocks and fossils.
Children will be looking at the 3 different types of rocks and how they are formed.
ICT: We will create news reports using iMovie on a natural disaster.
History: Accounts of the eruption of Mount Vesuvius
We will be looking at this closely during our literacy work, including how the ancient city of Pompeii holds some of the secrets to its past.
Class 8's P.E session in school will take place on Tuesday afternoon and Thursday morning.
